Last week, I had the opportunity to be the first one to get a look at Just Blaze’s new studio space at StadiumRed in Harlem. Right off 125th and Park, JB recently moved into his new recording home. After a quick tour, we chatted about his tour with Alchemist, creating “No Love” with Em & Weezy, Fat Beats closing, his new TV show, and of course the status with his next Jay Electronica records.

“I gave Em the framework of what the record could be about and a couple vocal ideas that I had for the hook. He knocked it out like two days later,” Just said, adding that the final touch came when he stepped from behind the board and into the booth. “After it was completed, I went back and added me singing the ‘No Love’ part.”- Just Blaze

Just Blaze gives us s status update on his Jay Electronica collaborations:

“Jay and I are going to be coming out with something soon. We do have a bunch of records done, but I don’t want to drop anything else without a purpose. There has to be a bigger picture,” Just explains. “We’ve had conversations about what the next step is, but have finalized any release dates yet or anything. Before, we just were very free spirited. We never even planned on putting ‘Exhibit C’ out on a specific date. We just brought it up to Tony Touch one day.” (via VIBE)

Just on his upcoming TV show:

“There’s something else video game and music related that I might be working on. It’s so early, though—we’ve only been two conversations about it. But it will probably have a lot of haters upset, again,” Just tells VIBE with a chuckle, from behind his new console. “I’m also working on a TV show. It’s not just a pitch thing—we’re almost done shooting. I took the downtime I had from making music to do something different, jump on the small screen a little bit.” (via VIBE)

Duke just shot over this footage of Dipset producer Araab Muzik creating some beats for Busta live in the studio. Seriously, this kid goes ham for the big homie. Araab is behind “Salute”, “We All Up In Here”, and plenty more U.N./Dipset tracks.
