With the Roots providing the music, Wale and Miguel serenaded the ladies last night on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon by performing their duet “Lotus Flower Bomb”. Ambition in stores now.

Gabz: Last night, J. Cole ended a string of 4 sold out shows in London by returning to Koko after his solo debut at the famed venue, which took place last January. He’s also kept busy supporting Tinie Tempah on tour and on the new track “Like It or Love It”. I was lucky enough to attend both last year’s show and last night’s gig, which really allowed me to see first-hand how much he has progressed in terms of stage presence and audience interaction. The main difference was in the setlist (included after the jump), which involved much more new music than his mixtape favorites. The set itself was energetic and Cole had the whole audience singing along. “Can’t Get Enough” and “Lights Please” were by far the crowd favorites. A highlight was a very dapper Miguel joining him on stage for “All I Want Is You,” and promising that J. Cole would be guest appearing at his show tonight in Kentish Town…so if you’re in London, you may want to grab tickets fast!

Peace, love and souuuul took over the 40th annual Soul Train Awards. The 2011 edition, hosted by Cedric The Entertainer, was taped last week at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre as Gladys Knight and Earth, Wind & Fire were honored with the prestigious Legend Award. Robin Thicke, Joe, Eric Benét, Lloyd, Chrisette Michelle, Musiq Soulchild, Anthony Hamilton, and Mindless Behavior all turned the party up with live performances. Above, watch as Common performs his single “Blue Sky” with help from Marsha Ambrosius.

While some fans frowned after finding out that Wale‘s album Ambition had more tracks aimed at women than expected, I knew exactly what he was doing. Fast forward a little bit, and Ambition is the #2 album in the country selling 140k more than Wale’s first album. See people, women buy way more albums than dudes on the Internet mad at Wale for not keeping it 100% Hip-Hop (And let’s be honest, they wasn’t gonna buy the album anyway). When you add that with his signing with Maybach Music, is it safe to say Wale won?

Wale’s new video for “Lotus Flower Bomb” is the perfect fit. It pays homage to Poetic Justice and also has a romantic feel that will make all the women who love this song already love it even more.

Sidenote: I just realize that the girl featured here is Bre from America’s Next Top Model. Yea, thank my ex-girlfriends for that bit of knowledge.
