YMCMB is reaping the benefits from a great 2011 it looks like as Cash Money CEO’s Birdman and Slim had a couple of special gifts for Lil’ Wayne and Mack Maine. Baby treated himself and Weezy with brand-new 2012 Bentleys, while Mack received a spanking new Rolls Royce Phantom.

Mack’s reaction throughout the video is best, as for me? No words.

The recent announcement from Birdman that Lil’ Wayne will be releasing a new album in the I AM NOT A HUMAN BEING series is great news to me. I consider the first to be one of his best albums. I can agree with some reviews that it’s mixtape-ish because of the lack of flow from track to track but I say that contributes to the unique style of it. It’s supposed to be off the wall, random, kind of alien. What I can appreciate is when an artist can create something original and different.

It’s without a doubt a different genre of Hip-Hop and that’s one of the greatest things about it. In the past few years we’ve seen multiple artists release non-gangster rap albums and have a lot of success. In fact, many of the latest artists aren’t from that background at all and get to the top of the boards. I believe we’re moving to a time where Hip-Hop can span all genres and sub-genres. Talent is talent, no matter where you’re from.

What else I like about this series is the randomness of the music and the words. Wayne raps in a stream-of-consciousness style which gives it a raw and unstable feeling. The same goes for the beat. On a few of the songs the beat changes almost as much as Wayne’s subject matter. The music on one of my favorite tracks, “YM Banger”, sounds to me like a starship engine cutting on and off uncontrollably while the succumbing to Earths gravity. There are multiple bangers on this album that I’m constantly playing.

Weezy also shows his softer side on this album with “I’m Single”, and “With You”. I see “With You” as a modern language ballad. The simplistic lyrics makes it easy to relate to modern American culture.

Damn, you the shit.
I’ll rip my heart out and hand you the shit.
I don’t really know how to handle this shit.
But tonight, it’s moonlight and candles and shit.

Songs like these and a few singles would make another solid record. And don’t forget, he’ll have more time to work on it this time around.

We were thinking I probably sprained the muscle, which is like a slight tear, which will probably take a few days to heal. A few days and I’ll be back.”

Lil Wayne’s been a lil outta commission after injuring his shoulder in a recent skating accident. With Scoob Doo behind the lens, he explains how he hurt himself.

2 Chainz was finally able to formally announce some big news with MTV’s Sway Calloway on RapFix Live Wednesday afternoon. A few seconds before officially declaring his roster spot on Def Jam Recordings, 2 Chainz revealed he’s been recording with Kanye West for the past year and hopes to release one of their collabos sometime soon.

“One thing that people may not know is that I’ve been working with Kanye West for the past year. We have records together, we have ideas that we’re planning on releasing to the world real soon. I’m tryna get my ‘N in Paris’ swag up. So at the end of the day, my new home and who I’ve been comfortable with is Def Jam Records.

Before Rap Fix, 2 Chainz basically confirmed that he has signed to Def Jam Recordings. In an XXL interview , the Atlanta rapper said that it was time for him to take a different route with Ludacris’ Disturbing Tha Peace, however, still remain label mates and will continue to work with each other.

“It’s the Real University, Two Gun Gang, Street Executives. It’s not DTP no more,” he says. “I’m actually behind [Ludacris], he’s still my homie. I just took another route as far as running my own company and bossing up. But on the other hand, I’m still working with him.”

The “Duffle Bag Boy” rapper also said that he’s planning on releasing two albums this year. He’s expected to make a formal announcement on MTV’s RapFix Live this afternoon.
